#16 Carnivorous Beauty
“When civilization fails to serve it must disintegrate unless it is acted on by unifying internal or external forces.” -Octavia Butler
This poem is about a gorgeous carnivorous plant. Is this us? Is this the U.S.? What are the traps spikes and seductions at play in our work together in the dynamics of this civilization? What do you attract and what happens once all that you/we attract draws close? Collaboration? Disintegration? Adaptation? All of the above? I would love to know your thoughts in the comments. And get your digital copy of the actual words of these wordy poems with your donation to the Dark Sciences People of Color Dream Retreat coming up next week.
